evil triumph when good men do nothing

OSEI-POKU JUNIOR

THE DIRECTOR
NATIONAL SERVICE SECRETARIAT
WESTERN REGION
ALLOWANCE DEDUCTIONS
The activity of NASPA has been reduced significantly to organisation of service week, meetings and congress .This unfortunate realization is not the doing of the stars or nature but the limited foresightedness of our leaders from the national level through the regional to the district levels of NASPA. Young leaders are now mostly interested in their own selfish interests than the determination to cause a positive change to the lives of our subjects.
In my view, NASPA (national) has not done anything new since ascension onto the glorious seat as president by Hon. Vincent Ekow but the continuation of the old rusted chain of activities i.e. meeting, congress and eventually week celebration. Rumours, from deductions to the making of citations and today, information blaring from the regional desk is an allowance deduction for the making of T-shirts, hand bands and other materials has been the order of our long awaited months.
I wish to state that the recent decision or proposal to deduct 20 cedis from all service personnel allowance (though not approved yet); 15 cedis; for making of T shirts and souvenirs and 5 cedis shared proportionally to all arms (national, regional, district of NASPA) is rather unfortunate since the 40 cedis dues paid (proportioned or not) at the beginning of service is to cover these items and not for organisation of a glorious and extravagant hotel venued congress', like the recent one. I believe this is a clear indication of the abuse of the NASPA constitution and therefore article 18.1(1b) which
gives congress the power to make deductions as and when necessary should be re visited and amended.
I also wish to state that unless it’s a welfare need, allowances of service persons shouldn't be deducted and this provision of shirts and wrist bands cannot be considered as one. Just like NSS cloth, these items should be optional. These deductions done in the former administration (Awortwe Wilberforce’s Administration) don’t make it right and if not stopped now, posterity will judge us all.
Yours sincerely,

Again, another great one goes...

Well our tears had hardly dried from the death of a great mentor to africans, Nelson Mandela than we heard of the fall of another.
That which started as a rumour on facebook and everyone wanted to know why anyone could spread such ridiculous rumour because we couldn't just believe it.
This gentleman I marvelled and admired so much due to the heights he had reach at the age of 41 had passed away.I couldn't help than remember when he was last mentioned.
Just a week ago when Kojo Oppong Nkrumah was telling his story of how he had started at joy fm and the strange but effective way "the boss player" had trained him.
Unfortunately Komla Afeke Dumor had died and the rumours eventually became true.I personally loved his dressing, his voice and such a great man had just passed on.
Kombla da yie, you were a mentor and you inspired me so much and I will continue to learn from you from your videos on youtube.
You will be remembered.
Dumor da yie, the great land of Africa has lost another great man

Nelson Mandela

Tata Madiba...the world Misses you already.
The most influential man the world could ever have had.Leaving behind an imprisonment of almost three decades to become not only a national leader but also an advocate of social justice, world peace, human rights and democracy.

The father who encouraged us to believe and where words could not resolve our differences;we must fight for our heritage.we are not proud you lived among us...we are grateful.

"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead..."Nelson Mandela.

Your legacy lives on...it is in our hands now. Heaven heralds your homecoming...

R.I.P Madiba.

What's right

Somewhere in Ghana
After a victorious and elegant win of the Ghana black stars over the Egyptians all I could think of was their bonus.Their huge bonus they had made over putting a smile on the faces of Ghanaians. The whooping $15000 bonus in addition to their original entitlement for winning 6 : 1 over Egypt. They had won but unfortunately the rest of ghanaians (You and I) will receive nothing. Why? Bcos we were spectators and not players.Despite our 90minutes of chants we will recieve nothing.
This made it clear to me that, In life Spectators don't get rewarded, it is only players who do.
So not until you and I get into action as  players on our dreams in life we will remain as fans and remember fans don't get bonuses, only players do.
Have a great day

Did I make a promise?

Sometimes I sit and think.I really think of how and wonder if I really made a promise.
I wonder if the reciting of the pledge was truly a promise I made to God and my countrymen.
Am I going to fulfil this promise?
So help me God

The National Pledge
I promise on my honor
to be faithful and loyal to Ghana my motherland.
I pledge myself to the service of Ghana
with all my strength and with all my heart.
I promise to hold in high esteem our heritage,
won for us through the blood and toil of our fathers;
and I pledge myself in all things
to uphold and defend the good name of Ghana.
So help me God.

Dear Sir,

SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVING NATIONAL SERVICE POSTINGS AND REGISTRATION

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the western regional national service scheme on a successful posting and registration. Though I admired the accommodation for all complaints, I must however say, I believe the NSS registration could be better. The bureaucracy in getting registered is just pathetic. I however believe everything cannot be changed in a day but certain things could be easily done.
Firstly, the contact of the various companies personnel’s have been posted to could be on the appointment letters so as to avoid them returning to the office after a search through town to locate such companies. Personnel coming from outside the region go through so much stress locating their posted workplaces. I unfortunately had witnessed a gentleman who after registering had to come back the next day because searching for the company he was posted to (Boisson constructions) proved futile. Again, including the contact address on the website would go a long way to reducing the number of people with such complaints and will be one step to reducing the cumbersomeness and crowdedness of getting registered.
Also I must say that the wait to know where one has been posted is heart threatening but I believe your office could intermittently update and assure awaiting persons on the progress of your work to at least make them confident and look forward to it peacefully.
I hope and believe the above points enumerated will be viewed and if possible implemented by your noble office. I am humbled to have had your listening ear.
 Yours sincerely,
